Crying Eagle Brewing was founded in 2016 by Eric Avery and his Family in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Their mission was to create not just a brewery, but an arts, cultural and entertainment epicenter! One where visitors can get away from it all, one where everyone matters and where everyone feels important. The Averys knew that if they set out to bring everyone who visits a world-class experience, then they would build a company that would last generations.

The journey started with Eric’s first ever brewery visit in Houston. Lake Charles not having a brewery, Eric’s visit was an eye-opening one that left him asking “Why doesn’t Lake Charles have a brewery?” From that point on, he and his family set out on a mission to bring their vision to the home they knew and loved so much.

Today, Crying Eagle is one of the largest Microbrewery Restaurants in the country and serves over 200,000 guest per year in their taproom. Lead by great beer and delicious food, Crying Eagle also boasts some of the best entertainment Lake Charles has to offer.

Our hard work and dedication to the craft, along with an unwavering commitment to excellence, have paved the way for growth. Today, Crying Eagle proudly calls two homes its own—our original brewery and our newly opened Lakefront location on the shores of Lake Charles.
